According to business news magazines and independent studies, approximately every 10 seconds, a new opportunity to work from home is started. As fascinating as this sounds, it is what independent results have shown. With more jobs being sent overseas and businesses shedding their employees daily, you can bet that this statistic is on an upward trend. In America, almost 40 million home offices are born, but the United States Census reveals that the numbers can fluctuate quite a bit between 20-35 million home offices. In the year 2008, the ratio of folks who were employed and telecommute from their home office was a staggering 9 out of 10!
During the year of 2009, studies showed that approximately 25% of employees performed up to 85% of their jobs from home. Yet another startling study revealed that nearly half of all businesses were being operated from home, this means that over 18 million business establishments were home office based!
It’s important to remember that a business is not necessarily a large building with a parking lot, it can be as small as 1 person-operated and require no more than the size of an average den. As time goes by, more and more businesses are allowing employees to perform their jobs from home. As of writing this post, just about 35% of all employers offer the opportunity for work at home tasks.
